On 6-25-04 I was severely burned in a paint thinner explosion that landed me in the burn clinic at KU MED. I received app. 80% burns, however not all were 3rd degree thank god, like my face that healed. However, my front torso, right side of torso, 85% of right arm, both hands, and both calves got torched big time. I am wearing compression garments on them. This has def. be the worst thing I've ever gone thru, and couldn't imagine anything worse. I have made awesome progress, but I still have a long ways to go. Many of my scars are still 1 year away from maturity.
I really enjoy the emu oil, for several reasons. One: being the burns don't look so bad when their not red. It has been helping in that area, although not like a lot of other testimonials because my burns are so severe. However I am happy with it the short time I have been using it. Two: It is slicker than most moisturizers and is great for massage and stays that way while you're working with it for the most part. And it also dries to the touch afterwards, unlike some of the super-grease products I've used like Elta. Three. I have less itch after use than regular lotion. I think the reason for that is a lot of the burns are bumpy, and the emu oil soaks into them because of it's liquid makeup unlike heavy lotion that just gets packed in the burns. I still itch all the time, but it isn't as bad. It's also made my skin less tight.
Again, thank you very much! I am a sheet metal worker by trade, and was laid off for an entire year BEFORE I got blown up so needless to say things haven't been the greatest that is for sure.
Thanks, I can't wait to get that pint!! My 8oz bottle is nearly empty and I'm due for a shower, but don't want to take one till it shows up as it really dries me out and I have to put on a considerable amount to get my skin reconditioned.
Thanks a million, you guys are great! Rob N.
Had 3rd degree burn. Used emu oil and unable to see where my left hand was burnt. No Scars.

Seven years ago my husband was burned in an explosion. Third degree (skin grafts) on his hands and arms and second to his face. A friend recommended he get pure emu oil. His skin has never gotten dry and cracked from the burns like some and the scars reduced dramatically. To look at his face you can not tell he was burned. He uses it to this day.

I HAVE BEEN USING EMU OIL FOR PROBABLY 20 YEARS. ITS SO GOOD FOR BURNS AND CAN PREVENT SCARING IF NOT ALLOWING BURNS TO SCAB. EVERYONE SAYS FOR MY 67 YEARS MY SKIN IS NOT TOO MANY WRINKLES. I RECOMMEND EMU OIL TO EVERYONE FOR ANY SKIN PROBLEM. SOME TAKE MY ADVISE AND SOME DONT.. THEY JUST DONT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE MISSING.. IN THE MALL THERE ARE ALL KINDS OF SKIN CREAMS THEY LIKE TO PUT ON YOUR HANDS.. THERE COMMENTS ARE USUALLY THAT I ALREADY HAVE SOFT HANDS ...WHAT DOESNT GO ON MY FACE GOES ON MY HANDS AND ARMS.. MY HUSBAND USES THE OIL FOR HIS ELBOW WHICH ARE REALLY DRY AND I USE IT FOR THE HEELS OF MY FEET....ONE THING THOUGH. THE BOTTLE HAS MY CAT LICKING THE TOP AND WAITING FOR MY NEXT USE.. HE IS JOHNNY ON THE SPOT FIRST THING IN THE MORNING AND LAST THING AT NIGHT FOR HIS DAILY FIX.

I burned my hands badly by grabbing a pan that had been in a 500 degree oven. The finger tips were seared white. I immediately applied pure emu oil, and added more oil for the first hour or so. Within 30 minutes the pain ceased. The next day, continuing to use the oil, there was just slight redness, no blisters or scars, and still no pain.
Our physician's fair, red headed daughter suffered a bad sunburn on a small exposed area that did not receive sun-block. Within minutes of applying emu oil, her pain was relieved, and there was no blistering or peeling.

I burned my hands badly with hot butter and immediately applied Emu oil and wrapped up the hands in a towel for about ten minutes. When I removed the towel, there was no trace on my hands of what should have been a good second-degree burn. No pain, the redness and swelling were gone!
